Web site gets facelift

Welcome to our website!  This is the first of our weekly blogs and believe me when I say that this is a vast undertaking for someone that did not grow up in the age of computers.  I learned to type (dare I say it?) in 1971 on a manual typewriter, you know the kind where you have to hit the return with your hand at the end of the margin?  We didn't use computers in college either. We did it the old fashioned way by going to the library and using plain pencils and paper.  My first job after college was in a temp agency and guess what, no computers there either.  I have interviewed thousands of people using nothing but an application and a darned good memory.  Times have changed and although I am a willing participant in the age of technology  I'm still an old dog and there are an awful lot of new tricks to be learned.  The best trick I know is to hire people that are smarter than I am and let them do the hardest tricks like putting together this website.  My best trick is having close to thirty years experience in Human Resources working as the Hiring  and Safety Manager, Executive Recruitment, Temporary Placement, and now as an owner of Flex-Staff.  Oh the stories I could tell you!

That said, this column will mainly consist of what's happening in the world of employment.  Feel free to ask questions and I'll do my best to answer them.

Best regards,

Lynn Daves
